Contractor SAP ABAP Developer

PURPOSE: This position provides primary support for ABAP programming to meet client needs, leads development solutions, supports business systems, liaises with offshore teams, and collaborates with HQ to improve practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Deliver quality products as an ABAP technical lead and lead ABAP Projects.
• Provide programming solutions to various SAP functional areas.
• Respond to SAP ABAP production issues and research causes of problems.
• Propose and test corrective actions with user departments.
• Work with functional consultants for integration tests.
• Perform routine tasks according to procedures.
• Keep records, prepare reports, issue addresses, and maintain SAP systems with ABAP perspective.
• Perform other duties as required.

STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT:

• Help businesses implement cost-effective technology solutions by determining project/program requirements and communicating them to stakeholders.
• Improve or re-engineer business processes with management and end-users to increase operational efficiency.

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 (DOE)/yr.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent.

Related Work Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience in the IT field.
• 3+ years’ experience solving business problems with technology solutions, preferably in Automotive or Manufacturing.
• Hands-on ABAP programming experience.
• Ability to set expectations, explain technical concepts to peers, management, and business partners.
• Excellent customer service, verbal & written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically.
• Strong negotiation/persuasion, system troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Broad knowledge of programming techniques (dialog programming, BDC, SAP Script, Smart Form).
• In-depth knowledge of SAP systems and modules (PP/MM/SD/FI/CO/HR/BW).
• S/4 Hana knowledge is a plus.

Certifications: SAP ABAP certification preferred.
