Full-Time Senior FrontEnd Developer (REACT)

Seeking a Senior Front End REACT Developer to become a member of a newly formed project team.

Financial services client has a legacy application which manages and maintains employee records. The legacy application technology platform has outlived its useful lifespan and is in need of a rewrite. Client seeks a partner to re-write this application using modern technologies and incumbent frameworks supported within the client ecosystem. Namely, the application should include a React JS front end which is written within a micro front end framework and a Choreo API gateway backend which interacts with existing stored procedures, views and tables within the Oracle database.

Job Duties -

Take full ownership and responsibility of the front end development tasks

Adhere to client coding standards, architectural patterns and practices

Design & develop front end architecture for system to work within an existing micro frontend architecture. Analyze existing micro frontend & shared components, understand Kendo UI and storybook.js.

Evaluate and analyze the legacy system to fully understand features, functionality, data elements and business rules.

Design & develop REACT front end

Collaborate with back end developer to design required endpoints and data contracts

Understand and implement a modern application which incorporates Bootstrap or other UI/UX frameworks as a foundation for a modern and effective UI

Implement css, html and UI consistent with best practices to promote responsive design concepts, cross browser compatibility and section 508 principles

Design & develop Jest unit tests to achieve required unit test coverage

Design & develop Playwright tests to achieve required test coverage

Work closely with product owner to fully understand, prioritize and implement required features and functionality

Understanding and experience with all Agile ceremonies, artifacts and processes within the development lifecycle

Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, providing timely and succinct status updates and communicating with teammates and leadership personnel

Job Requirements - 

Excellent communication skills are a must. Demonstrable experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, providing timely and succinct status updates and communicating with teammates and leadership personnel

Extensive experience working with Agile task management tools and processes

Experience with investigation, analysis and interpretation of legacy codebases

Proven ability to meet tight timelines and work within tight budget constraints

Proven 8+ years of experience as a Single Page Application (SPA) front end developer

8+ years of experience as a REACT developer using > REACT v16.x

2+ years of experience with micro frontend architectures and frameworks

JavaScript, Typescript - 8+ years of experience with JavaScript or Typescript in a SPA application

Proven experience authoring front end unit tests with Jest is required

Experience with Kendo UI is required

Experience writing automated browser tests with Playwright.js is preferred

Experience with Storybook.js is preferred

Understand and proven experience with modern source control systems. Experience working within branches and collaborating with CI/CD team for deployment considerations

Understand concepts of developing environment specific configurations and settings which can be tailored to deploy application into multiple settings

Desired Skills & Experience - 

Experience working in a financial services setting a plus

Full stack or web api development experience a plus

Storybook.js experience

Playwright.js for automated testing

Experience with CI/CD pipeline

Familiarity with Oracle databases

Understanding of Choreo API gateway
