Senior IT Security Engineer - Contract Opportunity - Remote
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure system and network solutions.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Lead investigations and respond to security incidents.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new security technologies.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX).
- Collaborate with IT, application development, and business teams.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers.
Skills/Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in IT security.
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and endpoint protection.
- Hands-on experience with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management).
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
Preferred Skills:
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC).
- Retail or multi-location business experience.
- DevSecOps experience.
