As the Scrum Master, you will lead and promote our Agile journey. You will work with colleagues in the Agile Practices Chapter to enable cross-functional self-managed teams. You will use your knowledge as well as hands-on experience with a range of agile and lean methodologies to promote the development of the agile mindset and guide us towards exceptional customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, IT, Agile Practices Lead, you will:
- Support Product Owners on keeping transparent and up-to-date project KPIs and documentation, including sprint backlogs/product backlog, requirements refinement, and release plans
- Support Product Owner to develop product plans and roadmaps and drive products and features from ideation to launch in a fast-paced environment
- Facilitate daily scrum meeting, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective
- Remove any impediments or blockers that are hindering the teams’ progress
- Coordinate between teams (Platform Engineers, IT Support, AWSOps, and other Scrum Masters) and assist with internal and external communication, manage dependencies and improve transparency and collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve development blockers
- Oversee and coordinate in-sprint testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Manage the release process to ensure smooth and timely deployments
- Ensure scrum teams achieve their objectives keeping the teams focused on their goals and end-user satisfaction
- Encourage learning and ongoing development in Scrum processes and the implementation and improvement of relevant practices
- Produce team agile metrics & reports and continuously introduce agile practices to enable better work planning, work estimation, work breakdown and status of delivery
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 3 years for a software development team that was applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Knowledge of various well-documented agile patterns and practices (e.g.: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, estimation techniques)
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and quality processes
- Ability to work in multicultural projects and environments
- Experience in using Jira and Confluence
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications will be considered as a plus
- Appetite to take ownership of several initiatives
- Good appreciation of current market trends (Cloud, Data Analytics, Emerging Technologies etc.) and how these are likely to impact key industry players
- Natural curiosity and the confidence to provide alternative options or suggestions when you see something that could be improved
