Contractor Senior Software Development Engineer

OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (Backend) to join our team on a 6-month contract. You will lead the development of backend solutions for a leading digital platform that serves millions of users globally. Experience with OTT platforms is highly preferred.

Requirements

Minimum Experience: 7+ years in backend development.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in backend development, preferably with Node.js.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and AWS Services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Golang or Perl is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, development & delivery of the Cricinfo backend and underlying software component.
• Execute long/short term project plans and roadmap including new features, existing revamps and migration
• Showcase a deep understanding of technical design and take end-to-end responsibility for your features, from design to production.
• Collaborate independently with stakeholders and product managers to define project requirements and break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
• Prioritize and deliver project milestones effectively, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Participate in team on-call activities, identifying and resolving root causes of recurring issues.
• Mentor junior engineers (SDE1s/SDE2s) for functional excellence, conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to hiring activities.

Interview Process3 technical rounds covering Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), architecture, system design, and overall technical expertise.
