Full-Time Senior Specialist, Web Production

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. Reporting to the Manager, Web Production, the Senior Specialist, Web Production is a member of the Society’s Marketing team developing and maintaining the Society’s nationalMSsociety.org site and related digital properties, connecting constituents to the information, resources and support they need. This role possesses advanced technical skills and knowledge specific to Society tools and platforms, demonstrating expertise in Society and production standards, processes and procedures to provide constituents with an exceptional online experience.

Essential Functions / Responsibility

Production and maintenance of the NationalMSSociety.org website - 75%

• Use of advanced technical skills with approved web tools and platforms to create and maintain the Society’s nationalMSsociety.org website and related digital properties, support execution of the Society’s digital ecosystem strategy and ensure an optimal user experience with a focus on accessibility, personalization and integration across digital touch points. Digital properties include but are not limited to nationalMSsociety.org. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Creating new webpages
• Updating webpages
• Consolidating webpages
• Formatting content
• Image evaluation and adjustment
• Configuration of web assets
• Configuration of content aligned to personalized journeys
• Quality assurance review
• User acceptance testing
• Following documented procedure for coordinated launch and archiving of web content
• Completing assigned work in a timely manner
• Complete professional development to remain up to date on the Society’s platforms and procedures
• Demonstrate expertise and conceptual knowledge of Society and Marketing practices, processes and procedures for web production, maintenance and day-to-day operations. Serve as a core support member of the web production team delivering timely and quality work related to the nationalMSsociety.org website and associated digital properties. Complete all digital work in alignment with the Society’s brand, user experience (UX), SEO, accessibility and skilled technical standards.
• Works autonomously, understanding and complying to a defined production schedule, managing priority responsibilities and time to meet project and assignment deadlines, as well as unplanned urgent requests.
• Observe and honor Marketing service level agreements, communicating progress in online project management system to ensure deadlines are met.

Manage communication and coordination with cross functional stakeholders from Marketing and Society departments related to informational details, review, quality assurance and approval for all assigned projects. - 25%

• Collaborate with Society stakeholders and web production team for review, quality assurance and approval of website updates.
• Apprise team of issues in a timely and consistent manner to ensure tracking resolution of roadblocks, bug fixes or other issues.

Role Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience or demonstrated ability in web development, design or content management
• Up-to-date advanced HTML and CSS skills required
• JavaScript and jQuery experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to work autonomously, using existing and documented processes and procedures to manage project work and multiple tasks in a dynamic, often hectic and fast-paced environment and have the ability to meet deadlines and work within a team environment
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Work portfolios and/or demonstration of ability via an assigned task
• Capacity to work with diverse groups of individuals

Technical Competencies

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience or demonstrated ability in web development, design or content management
• Up-to-date advanced HTML and CSS skills required
• JavaScript and jQuery experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to work autonomously, using existing and documented processes and procedures to manage project work and multiple tasks in a dynamic, often hectic and fast-paced environment and have the ability to meet deadlines and work within a team environment
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Work portfolios and/or demonstration of ability via an assigned task
• Capacity to work with diverse groups of individuals
• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge of full web development cycle from discovery/requirements to planning, design, development, testing and optimization is required
• Advanced skills/knowledge of content management systems (CMS). Experience with headless CMS particularly Sanity and/or Salesforce Experience Cloud is preferred
• Knowledge of ADA web standards and WCAG 2.0 Levels of accessibility (particularly Level AA) and on-page search engine optimization is preferred
• Experience using project management and online ticketing/production queue software programs is preferred
• Must be familiar with responsive design/development best practices.
• Must be a continual learner to stay abreast of changes in digital technology and online tools
• Must be available to work assigned nights and weekends to support fundraising events (mix of on-call/remote and in-person).
• Spanish language comprehension a plus.
