Contractor Senior Test Automation Engineer (DV)

We're looking for Senior Test Automation Engineers for a project based on a Kafka data driven platform with components developed in Java Spring Boot.

This role involves working on component-level and system-level testing using advanced test framework, which supports Gherkin for behaviour-driven development (BDD).

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and optimize automated test scripts for both individual components and system-wide test scenarios.
• Partner closely with developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure thorough test coverage.
• Promote and implement Shift-Left testing practices within the project to identify and address issues early.
• Leverage a Gherkin-based framework to design and run automated test cases effectively.
• Develop and sustain testing strategies for Kafka-driven data pipelines, focusing on verifying message transformations, data enrichments, and quality checks.
• Craft test scenarios tailored to Java Spring microservices, with a focus on performance, scalability, and dependability.
• Identify and resolve issues in test scripts and environments to enable seamless continuous testing processes.
• Operate within an Agile framework, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Guide and support junior QA and automation engineers by sharing best practices and promoting a quality-centric mindset.
• 8+ years of experience in test automation, with expertise in component and system-level testing;
• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript for developing test scripts and automating workflows.
• Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar, using Gherkin syntax.
• Advanced expertise and understanding of Kafka-based architectures, including message queues, topics, producers, and consumers.
• Experience in microservices testing - Java Spring Boot applications, including RESTful APIs.
• Experience with automation tools like Playwright, RestAssured, or similar; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for validating data integrity and persistence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in Polish and English language.

Nice to have

• Experience with data quality testing tools or libraries.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Preferable Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Work model: Remote based in Poland (possible occasional visits at the office in Warsaw);
• Contract: B2B;
• Rate: up 150 PLN/h net+vat;
• Start: ASAP;
• Project length: 6 months + high possibility of extension.
