Position Overview:
Are you a creative coder with a passion for crafting exceptional web experiences? We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to partner with our marketing team in building and maintaining a cutting-edge, mobile-responsive website in the WordPress environment. In this pivotal role, you will create and sustain a best-in-class website that drives user acquisition and customer engagement. Your vast toolbox of solutions and innovative mindset will enable you to tackle challenges head-on and elevate our online presence.
What You'll Do:
- Build, extend, maintain, and optimize our marketing website using the WordPress CMS.
- Develop page types, taxonomy language, and menu systems based on wireframes and project requirements.
- Lead and mentor a junior WordPress developer.
- Configure goals, triggers, and tracking snippets in our A/B testing tool, VWO.
- Convert designs into component-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement technical SEO best practices to enhance site visibility.
- Understand and implement UI/UX standards for high-velocity transactions.
- Participate in all stages of development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Handle daily tasks such as CMS updates, template creation, and WordPress maintenance.
- Manage the website back-end, including database and integrations with Marketo and Salesforce.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.
- Regularly patch WordPress and associated plugins, addressing vulnerabilities promptly.
- Conduct periodic vulnerability scans and act on alerts.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience as a front-end developer in a fast-paced environment, specializing in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Node/NPM, Webpack, and Tailwind CSS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in business English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
- Keen attention to detail with a track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and optimizing responsive websites.
- Understanding of CSS changes and their implications across platforms and browsers.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in a related field (preferred).
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient in WordPress, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, Asana and/or Jira, Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Hotjar, VWO, GSC, GTM, GA4.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and work in front of a screen for extended periods, using hands to handle tools and controls.
Travel Expectations:
- Up to 10% travel to remote sites within the United States.
