The Opportunity: We are seeking a Software Engineer I - Integrations to contribute to the development and optimization of Flywire’s global payments platform. This role will focus on building and maintaining API integrations that connect Flywire with financial institutions, payment providers, and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of software engineering principles, an eagerness to learn, and a passion for problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain API integrations that enable seamless data exchange between Flywire and external platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and business stakeholders to gather integration requirements.
- Implement secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions for real-time payment processing and financial transactions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving integration issues, ensuring system reliability and data accuracy.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Support deployment and monitoring processes, ensuring smooth operation in production environments.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and integration best practices.
What We Are Looking For: We are looking for a junior software engineer with a strong foundation in software development, API integrations, and cloud technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on API development and integrations.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and third-party API integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and writing efficient queries.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly, collaborate in a team environment, and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document technical solutions effectively.
