Job Purpose: A critical position in the global training department. Ensuring alignment of terminology and standards across the department. Supports the Training & Development Consultancy pillar. Delivering quality assurance for training material and online learning solutions.
Quality Assurance Duties:
- Review and editing of TNA reports, training material, storyboards, and eLearning content for accuracy and consistency.
- Linguistic and terminological review of editorial content.
- Set up and management of the Smiths Detection terminology database.
- Maintaining the online learning style guide and templates.
- Publishing content and archiving old versions.
- Review and QA of eLearning material, focusing on spelling, grammar, learner experience, and functionality.
- Ensuring adherence to the Smiths Detection Online Training Naming Convention.
- Managing configuration controls for Training & Development outputs.
Administration Duties:
- Ensuring effective system storage of documents.
- Keeping technical references updated.
- Creating and maintaining an online learning database.
- Updating the Global Training Catalogue.
- Creating online learning products data sheets.
- Creating, managing, and reviewing Training Department templates.
- Processing translation requests (obtaining cost estimates, creating orders, reviewing translations).
- Managing and updating the Online Team's SharePoint site.
- Managing the centralised image, video, and asset repository.
- Attending, taking minutes, and contributing to business meetings.
- Conducting other tasks as needed.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Excellent English (essential).
- Copywriting experience (desired).
- Experience with quality assurance tools/processes.
- Knowledge of JSP101 (desirable).
General Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Experience working in a global organisation.
- Knowledge of terminology databases.
- Good technical understanding and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
