About World Business Lenders
World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States. WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture & Road-mapping
- Define the target architecture for Angular front-ends, Python back-ends (FastAPI/Django), and SQL Server/Azure SQL data layers.
- Create integration blueprints for inbound/outbound data flows with third-party systems.
- Maintain an ADR (Architecture Decision Record) log.
- Solution Design & Delivery
- Translate business processes into modular web application services.
- Lead design reviews; de-risk with spikes and proof-of-concepts.
- Pair with engineers on complex features.
- Data & Integrations
- Model relational schemas, define indexes/partitions, and author T-SQL.
- Establish integration patterns and data quality SLAs.
- Security & Compliance
- Own authN/authZ, secrets management, PII handling, and audit logging.
- Drive secure coding standards and vendor risk assessments.
- Reliability & Operations
- Define SLOs/SLIs, observability, and incident playbooks.
- Choose CI/CD strategy and infra.
- Mentor senior engineers; run design clinics and post-mortems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to map processes and prioritize automations.
Requirements:
8+ years in software engineering, 3+ as architect/tech lead. Production systems with Angular, Python (FastAPI or Django), and SQL Server. Building integrations at scale. CI/CD, containerization, cloud (Azure/AWS). Excellent English communication.
Nice to Have:
Event-driven architectures, DDD, CQRS; feature flags; Terraform. Experience in fintech or data-sensitive domains.
