Job Details
We are seeking a skilled BI Developer to support our Reporting initiative. Focus is on data engineering and modeling for HCA compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards and visualizations for HCA compliance reporting.
- Build and extend LookML models for business requirements and data accuracy.
- Translate business/regulatory requirements to technical specs & reporting logic.
- Perform source-to-target mapping and collaborate with data architects for model alignment.
- Query & validate data in Snowflake using SQL for Looker reports.
- Collaborate with data analysts, QA, and product owners for reporting quality.
- Ensure all reports meet audit, regulatory (HCA), and performance standards.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of BI/reporting development experience
- Strong proficiency in Looker & LookML modeling (Liquid Variables)
- Experience configuring/managing PDT dependencies
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (or similar)
- Solid SQL skills (Joins, Windows Functions, CTEs)
- Experience utilizing the SQL tab, explaining plans for performance tuning and leveraging query/history logs for performance issues.
- Experience optimizing LookML for large datasets
- Experience with dimensional data modeling & scalable BI architecture.
- Experience implementing data security & conditional access
- Experience with user attributes & parameterization
- Experience configuring data groups for cache invalidation and Looker cache behavior tuning
- Familiarity with Git for Looker project version control
- Experience with Agile tools like JIRA & Confluence
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with compliance/audit reports (healthcare, financial)
- Knowledge of healthcare/HCA reporting standards
