Job Details
As a Sr. Developer, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing standard and complex programming tasks, code reviews, and participating in Technical Requirement gathering
- Writing functional specifications for medium to large features: Complex Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) Responses (micro-services, many vs single), Billing or external reports, heavy code refactoring, multi-app features, and writing and executing unit tests.
- Performing expert analysis code review for compliance and coding standards for lower peer pull requests.
- Continuously learning and delivering work assignments, programming coding standards, code repository design patterns, new tools, and processes when required.
- Being aware of technical debt and proactively seeking opportunities to reduce debt/costs.
- Being an expert with engineering and programming foundation: Frameworks, complex Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and Auto Import Processors (AIPs). Using tools needed to debug and diagnose issues in a test and/or simple production environment.
- Mentoring and coaching other developers and team members.
- Being an expert with debugging and performance profiling code.
- Expertly managing Database (DB) and data compliance.
- Managing Change Management for work completed to help determine software capitalization and documenting developer notes to help Business/Systems Analyst (BA/SA) with technical specifications and Quality Assurance (QA) to determine test coverages.
- Meeting or exceeding the delivery timelines/expectations for the project (e.g., delivering on committed work within the sprint) and being an expert in estimating coding efforts.
- Being a Domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) of 2 or more products/components and proficient in most.
The Sr. Developer position is well-suited for you if you:
- Are an expert in the desired programming language and standards, as well as MVC Architectural Patterns
- Work to gain an in-depth knowledge of all product components
- Are well-versed in database administration, performance, and index optimization, and can do the delicate work of composing advanced select queries.
- Have strong communication skills and can share any impediments or blockers to committed sprint work deadlines and/or possible process improvements.
- Can work independently while being highly collaborative with team members, providing mentorship for other developers and peer programming workflow coordination
- Have good time management skills to perform a variety of tasks, manage competing priorities, and complete tasks on-time in a fast-moving environment while meeting (sprint) deadlines.
- Are a quick learner, especially in the areas of product training and mentoring, advanced programming concepts, practice, and procedures.
- Enjoy being a problem solver and are able to self-correct
What you'll need:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems, as well as the knowledge of the major programming language or equivalent.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of full-stack programming experience (PHP, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
- Willingness to work EST or CST business hours
