Profile and Project: We seek a Staff Software Engineer with deep knowledge and experience in building full-stack applications in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise leading a team. This position reports to the Senior Engineer Manager for Next-Gen Experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of experienced Software Engineers as a technical lead
- 70% of work is hands-on code, 30% is mentoring other engineers
- Guide and mentor team development efforts
- Architect and implement new React components and frontend applications
- Document architectural designs (Miro or similar)
- Build and test designs for compliance
- Test new applications and services in various environments
- Analyze platform performance and take corrective actions
- Provide analysis and solutions to operational issues
- Stay current with development methodologies and technologies
- Partner with Product and Design counterparts
- Collaborate with Principal and Distinguished Engineers
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role
- Experience with multiple languages (C# (.NET) preferred or Java), ES6+ JavaScript/TypeScript, React (preferred) or Angular
- Deep understanding of object-oriented principles
- Extensive experience with frontend and component architecture
- Frontend application state management (Redux, MobX, etc)
- REST and GraphQL communication
- Technical architecture discussions and driving decisions
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to add transparency to application health through logging and telemetry
- Advanced English proficiency
