In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Knowledge of assessing written psychological test to measure psychopathology, personality traits, and suitability for peace officer work
  • Knowledge of principles of effectively conducting clinical structured psychological interviews
  • Knowledge of test construction and validation procedures
  • Knowledge of application of screening methodology and procedures to specialized law enforcement populations
  • Knowledge of the psychology of implicit bias
  • Ability to prepare, review, and edit written reports
  • Ability to review and incorporate information from collateral sources
  • Ability to present ideas clearly, logically, and persuasively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize workload independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to conduct research to maintain current knowledge of relevant information related to the practice of peace officer selection and related psychological concepts
