Technical Documentation Engineer
Responsible for technical documents (design drawing, schematic, PCB, etc.) update, review, and management. Support other engineers in testing report writing, document collection, and preparation. Create ECR forms and support Engineering Change Management. Support engineering documentation standardization (guidelines, templates, and classification). Power user of SAP MM (Material Master), DMS (Document Management System), BOM Management, and ECM (Engineering Change Management).
Roles & Responsibilities
- Review/Check PCB design and 3D models to evaluate component fitting & installation.
- Redline design changes, implement drawing updates, and perform PCB layout changes (routing, placement, silkscreen updates).
- Gather, classify, and organize engineering data in SAP and other ERP systems.
- Review engineering design files, ensuring compliance with company standards and proposing improvements.
- Support technical document writing, preparation, and statistical analysis.
- Define required changes with engineers, manage paperwork, and raise ECRs.
- Prepare supporting documents for ECRs and customer approval.
- Coordinate with sourcing to obtain technical documents (datasheets, specifications, certificates) from suppliers and manage them per company policy.
- Standardize technical documents (test plans, reports, guidelines), create templates, and improve processes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or above in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering design drafting, technical writing, and technical documentation management.
- Experience with Electrical EDA and Mechanical CAD tools (Altium, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks).
- Understanding of electrical/electronic testing and test report writing.
- Knowledge of Product BOM, DMS, and PLM/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience in Engineering Change Management and stakeholder communication.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation standards and practices.
- Proficient in English; Chinese or Vietnamese desirable.
- Experience with Power Query, Python/VBA, and BI tools is a plus.
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 (Office tools, Teams, SharePoint).
