Background: UN Women Sri Lanka seeks a Copy Editor to ensure editorial quality and clarity of research outputs, effectively conveying key messages through various formats.
Responsibilities:
- Editing, revising, and formatting reports and communications material.
- Translating English press releases and documents to Sinhala.
- Maintaining a glossary of technical terms in Sinhala.
- Supporting the production of timely and well-structured materials.
- Ensuring high editorial quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Specific Tasks:
- Translate press releases and media advisories from English to Sinhala.
- Edit and proofread written materials in Sinhala.
- Develop compelling human interest stories in Sinhala.
- Review translated content for accuracy and readability.
- Ensure adherence to UN Women’s editorial style and terminology.
The Copy Editor will work closely with program and communications colleagues to clarify objectives and ensure alignment with strategic communication goals.
Consultant’s Workplace: Home-based consultancy.
Payments will be based on deliverables and certification of satisfactory completion.
