Chamberlain University is seeking a part-time online professor for University Seminar courses, designed to engage new and at-risk students.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate virtual new student orientation activities.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster student engagement and community.
- Engage students using an online LMS to develop study skills in reading/critical thinking and scientific reasoning.
- Coach, mentor, encourage, and monitor students as they meet benchmarks.
- Partner with academic leaders to develop student success strategies.
- Monitor student progress, referring them to academic resources as needed.
- Conduct virtual office hours.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Education, Adult Education, College Counseling, or related field.
- Experience with college student success/student services processes.
- Minimum of 2 years of online/virtual teaching experience.
- Experience mentoring adult learners and first-year college students preferred.
- Experience with Canvas LMS and Microsoft Office products preferred.
Other:
- Must hold an Illinois nursing license to teach if a registered nurse.
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion and respect.
- Able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees.
The compensation rate is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, based on education and experience.
