UX Research Internships – Academic Year 2025-2026

Academic Year Recruitment Timeline: April 21 – May 9: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume) Early May – Mid June: First round video interviews Mid June – Mid July: Second round interviews Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers

Academic Year Internship Program: Applications Close: May 9th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!

Program Dates: September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026

Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Format: Opportunities listed will be fully virtual.

To Apply: Submit a one-page resume that outlines your work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year. Submit a cover letter that highlights your passion for NBCUniversal, the locations you are open to for internships, and your top areas of interest. Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: UX Research, Architecture & Design: Our UX team supports product design across multiple business functions, including Content Supply Chain, Tech Foundation, and Corporate Core. The UX Research intern will receive exposure to design operations at an enterprise-scale, including UX processes & design workflows. This role does not involve consumer-facing applications or consumer research.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026).
  • December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026.
  • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Working knowledge of FigJam; basic knowledge of Figma.
  • Experience with UX research methodologies and data analytics.
  • Familiarity with design systems, especially Material Design, is a big plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Accessibility a plus.
  • A portfolio of case studies, including research projects and writing samples (please include link in application).

Hourly rate for undergraduate student interns: $30.00.

Hourly rate for graduate student interns: $30.00.
