Job Details

We are seeking a Working Student for exciting R&D work in material simulation.

Tasks Include:

  • Solving real-world material problems using computational methods like molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, and machine learning.
  • Generating molecular-level insights by creating computational chemistry pipelines.
  • Simulating chemical reactions in various environments.
  • Implementing virtual screening strategies for lead generation.
  • Conducting literature searches, preparing summaries, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (chemists, physicists, compound developers).

Requirements:

  • Study in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Experience with quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, computational materials science, and machine learning in chemistry/materials science.
  • Knowledge in integrating machine learning and computational chemistry systems.
  • Experience in modeling reaction mechanisms.
  • Programming experience (MATLAB, C++, Fortran, Python, or equivalent).
  • Experience with computational chemistry software (Gaussian, Material Studio, GROMACS, etc.).
  • Strong English language skills (written & spoken).
  • High creativity and quick problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Weekly working time: 20 hours
  • Duration: Up to 12 months
  • Start Date: April 2025
  • Location: Hanover, Germany (remote work within Germany also possible, occasional trips to Hanover).
