Adjunct Faculty: Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) 2025
The Doctor of Medical Science Program at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach Physician Assistant/Associate-centered doctoral program courses in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Augsburg’s DMSc program fosters an environment where innovation, inclusivity, evidence-based practice, and collaboration drive our work. We are committed to developing future PA leaders. This search will establish a pool of instructors if such openings occur during the Fall, Summer and Spring semesters.
Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Available courses vary by term.
All classes are taught in an online asynchronous modality. Instructors must be familiar and comfortable with this format.
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching the course
- Grading student work
- Maintaining a professional-level online learning platform course
- Mentoring students
- Responding to student questions via email
- Holding regularly scheduled office hours
- Providing course progress information to students
- Attending faculty meetings
- Communicating regularly with the DMSc Program Director
Course Materials: A course syllabus and online learning course sites with calendars, readings, learning materials, and an engagement section are typically provided.
Course Requirements: Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 15-16 weeks.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $5,500 to $6,550 per course.
Eligible for a 1-1.5% retirement contribution match, tuition discount for employees and dependents, and transit pass discount. Not eligible for healthcare benefits.
Note: Due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ adjunct faculty who reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction applies even to courses taught online.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (e.g., DMSc, DPA, PhD, EdD, DNP, DrPH) in a relevant field
- Experience teaching or learning in an online asynchronous format
- Dedication to the advocacy and professional growth of the PA Profession
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching at the university level
- Current NCCPA certification
