Contractor Adjunct Instructor - Sociology

We are seeking an Online General Education Instructor to join our team.

This role will involve teaching general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs. Courses may include: Psychology, Public Speaking, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct students and develop coursework for assigned classes.
• Continuously improve instruction by reviewing and implementing innovative teaching methodologies.
• Assist with syllabus and instructional guideline reviews.
• Regularly evaluate students and provide timely progress updates.
• Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives.
• Maintain student records (attendance, grades), and assist in program data collection.
• Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery.
• Provide ongoing student communication via office hours, electronic communication, and other methods.
• Participate in professional development and maintain required CE hours (if applicable).
• Stay current with college updates.
• Participate in quarterly online faculty meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
• Experience demonstrating student mentoring skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous online teaching experience using an LMS is required.
• Documented background in educational methodology, including theory/practice and subject matter expertise.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
