Full-Time Airport Route Development Director

Route Development Director reports to the Director of Airport Operation & Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Develop route development strategy and implement at Egis airports.
• Analyze traffic and provide forecasts.
• Conduct ad hoc route analysis and create commercial proposals for airlines.
• Develop route network at existing airports and prospect for new ones.
• Develop offers for expanding airport portfolio.
• Collaborate with colleague handling Africa airports.
• Adhere to legal requirements and Egis's code of conduct.
• Prospecting Project Responsibilities
• Analyze traffic components (passengers, cargo, movements) of target airports, catchment areas, competitive context, and leakage rate.
• Provide traffic forecasts based on industry drivers, historical trends, and development plans.
• Forecast aeronautical revenues based on tariffs, historical trends, and industry practices.
• Design route development strategy, including airline contact.
• Provide deliverables for aeronautical development plans.
• Participate in offer steering committees and contribute to optimizing offers.
• Supervise and challenge consultancies’ deliverables (if applicable).
• Existing Airports Implementation
• Deep understanding of Egis airport network (strengths, weaknesses, threats, opportunities, traffic, capacities, etc.).
• Design and implement route development strategy at airports without dedicated CCOs.
• Assist and advise airport CCOs (if needed).
• Organize a working group with airport CCOs to share best practices.
• Create route business cases for airlines.
• Develop DR budget, and manage it in consultation with the Marketing & Communication team.
• Maintain airline contact for presenting Egis airport portfolio, business cases, and initiate negotiations.
• Participate in Route Development trade fairs.
• Provide regular reports on actions, results, prospects, and upcoming activities to Airport O&M Director, HQ Airport O&M, and airport General Managers.
• General Responsibilities
• Manage staff, set objectives, evaluate performance, and assign tasks.
• Stay updated on market trends, airline strategies, alliances, needs, and expectations.
• Maintain awareness of airlines' strategies, air transport drivers, consumer behaviors, and travel trends.
• Qualifications
• Master's degree in engineering or business.
• 10+ years experience as airport or airline route network developer.
• Familiarity with business functions (airlines strategy, operational & financial needs).
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
• Business case development expertise.
• Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership ability.
• Analytical mind & problem-solving aptitude.
• Fluent in English, French a plus.
• Frequent international travel.
