Job Details
Application Administration: Create, modify, and delete users; optimize remote access; manage security for messaging systems, databases, and web applications.
Systems Updates and Documentation: Coordinate software, hardware, and operating system updates with department leadership; develop processes, documentation, backup procedures, test plans, and reports; prioritize and respond to service requests; provide escalation support to helpdesk.
EAI/EDI Knowledge: Provide knowledge of various SAP modules for integrated data interchange (EAI, EDI) based on webMethods.
System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor and evaluate in-place systems/applications, initialize repairs, updates, and changes to ensure optimal performance; independently modify existing software for error correction, hardware adaptation, interface upgrades, and performance improvement (e.g., Windows servers, third-party systems, storage systems).
Technical Consultation and Support: Consult with engineering staff and users to evaluate hardware-software interfaces; develop and implement specifications, performance requirements; resolve customer issues.
Application Administration: Support and administer various application software platforms; document IT activities (downtime, problems, system configurations).
Systems Development: May coordinate, manage, and/or build new computer systems for special purposes; maintain technical competency in IT applications.
Security Practices: Remain abreast of emerging security trends; participate in regular security activities; ensure operating systems are updated according to company policies and procedures.
Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties and projects as assigned; harden operating systems by closing unused ports and services; disabling unnecessary application features; removing demo/default application data.
