AR Manager responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely claim processing, promptly addressing practice correspondence, reviewing and appealing denials, and following up on aged claims.
Primary Duties:
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) including AR analysis for root cause issues and suggesting billing rule/edit suggestions to prevent future errors.
- Manage denial management; investigate denial sources, resolve, and appeal denials including contacting payer representatives.
- Make independent decisions regarding claim adjustments, resubmission, appeals, and other claim resolution techniques.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Performance, Operations, Sales) and care center staff.
- Support large care center go-lives, which may include overnight travel.
- Support Revenue Optimization team efforts to ensure reimbursement aligns with payer contracts, performing denial analysis using Trizetto.
- Work directly with practice consultants or physicians to ensure optimal revenue cycle function.
- Drive toward achievement of department KPIs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of medical billing office or equivalent claims experience
- Understanding of revenue cycle optimal performance drivers
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex claims
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, sorting/filtering, formulas)
- Experience with athenaHeath and/or athenaOne (preferred)
- Compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations
Salary: $41,000 - $48,000 base pay, plus potential 10% annual bonus.
Remote Work Requirements (if applicable): 5 Mbps Download Speed, 3 Mbps Upload Speed.
