Role Description
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research group to engage audio professionals in a high-impact project. As an AI Tutor – Audio Specialist, you will refine large-scale AI models by training them to understand, interpret, and produce high-quality sound and voice outputs.
This full-time role requires exceptional vocal quality, an acute ear for detail, and hands-on experience in audio production, editing, or sound design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use proprietary software to label, annotate, and evaluate audio clips.
- Deliver curated, high-quality datasets.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to train models on voice and sound processing.
- Develop tasks and test sets that improve AI performance.
- Support the enhancement of annotation tools.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong, professional vocal presence.
- Experience in audio post-production, sound design, podcasting, or music arrangement.
- Proficiency with audio enhancement tools.
- Understanding of industry standards.
- Excellent communication and technical skills.
- Commitment to AI development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Portfolio of professional audio work.
- Experience in broadcasting, studio recording, or sound design.
Opportunity Details:
- Location: Palo Alto, CA (in-office, 5 days/week) or fully remote.
- Schedule: 9:00am–5:30pm PST (first two weeks); then local timezone.
- Requirements: Chromebook, Mac (macOS 11+), or Windows 10+; smartphone access.
- U.S. applicants: Must reside outside Wyoming and Illinois.
Compensation & Contract Terms:
$45–100/hour, depending on experience and location.
