RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is seeking a Remote Azure Cloud Architect to lead the cloud strategy and implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure, orchestration, and modernization, with specific expertise in migrating and optimizing systems on Microsoft Azure. This role requires hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cloud Strategy and Design: Lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions, focusing on the modernization and migration of existing systems to Microsoft Azure
* Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using IaC tools such as Microsoft Bicep, Terraform, or similar, ensuring that our cloud environments are scalable, secure, and cost-effective
* Containerization and Orchestration: Drive the company's container journey by designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications
* Linux: Utilize your strong Linux experience to manage and optimize Linux-based workloads in the cloud; Provide guidance on best practices for Linux systems in a cloud-native environment
* Cloud Modernization: Lead the modernization of legacy systems by re-architecting and migrating workloads to Azure, ensuring they are optimized for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
* Automation and Optimization: Develop and implement automated processes for provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that cloud solutions meet business requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing systems
* Security and Compliance: Ensure that all cloud infrastructure is designed and operated with security and compliance best practices in mind, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
* Experience: Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management, with a focus on Microsoft Azure; Experience modernizing technologies including moving cloud platforms to Azure with a focus on assessing and selecting new tools
* Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Bicep, Terraform), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS)
* Linux Proficiency: Deep understanding of Linux systems and experience managing Linux-based workloads in a cloud environment
* Azure Modernization: Proven track record of modernizing legacy systems and migrating them to Azure, with a focus on optimizing performance, scalability, and cost
* Automation Skills: Expertise in automation tools and techniques for cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
* Security and Compliance: Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
