About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Back Office Manager well-versed in pre-authorization processes, medical copays, and CPT codes. Essential for managing financial operations, ensuring accurate billing practices and efficient filing systems to support revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision: Build out, oversee, and manage the Billing and Filing Department. Train, mentor, and evaluate staff.
- Operational & Back-Office Management: Develop best practices for billing and filing. Create and enforce SOPs. Oversee patient records and insurance claims. Conduct audits for compliance.
- Core Billing and Filing Functions: File insurance, handle claim submission, process orders for glasses/contacts, audit invoices, manage payment postings, follow up on rejected claims, and coordinate benefits.
- Revenue Management: Manage accounts receivable, auditing for accuracy. Develop strategies to increase revenue streams.
- Customer Service and Communication: Manage patient inquiries. Facilitate staff training and provide updates to team members.
Metrics for Performance:
- A/R amounts at 30, 60, 90, 120+ days.
- Write-off amounts relative to client goal.
- Team performance to goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in billing management within a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT coding, and insurance pre-authorization processes.
- Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience in training, mentoring, and leading teams to higher performance.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
