What you’ll do: Gain a deep understanding of our target user, what motivates them, and then turn those insights into impactful copy. Develop and edit Spanish and English concepts across multiple marketing channels. Create accurate English-to-Spanish translations and transcreations for various formats, including emails, social media, digital content, print materials, videos, blog, and more. Refresh and translate/transcreate existing communications. Provide occasional input for Spanish copy written by other in-house bilingual writers. Regularly collaborate with other translators in the Globalization team to maintain uniformity in Spanish terminology and concepts. Collaborate with the rest of the Creative team, including designers, illustrators, animators and creative leadership. Work with creative leadership and other writers to build and maintain an identity, voice and tone that can permeate all brand touchpoints and will stay true to the Fetch brand guidelines. Contribute to the copy portion of our evolving brand guidelines. Advise and assist in the development of campaigns and comms that are nuanced in Hispanic/Latinx insights. Constantly identify opportunities to elevate the copy elements of existing and new communications. Write copy that is smart, clear and obviously Fetch to move our brand forward!
The skills we believe you need for this position:
- Native Spanish speaker, able to read, write, translate, localize and transcreate content.
- 5+ years copy experience
- Ability to successfully identify and substitute phrases, idioms and language that doesn’t translate from English to Spanish.
- An understanding of how messaging may resonate differently with different cultures within the US and internationally.
- Staying current with culture in general and Hispanic/Latinx trends and experiences from different global regions.
- Great with words, a good vocabulary and solid understanding of grammar.
- A sincere belief in the power of collaboration.
- Ability to transform insights and strategy into excellent creative output.
- Strong organizational skills and great written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter: thrives in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and able to work with type in Adobe Creative Cloud and Iterable.
- A portfolio that showcases writing samples.
- Experience with project management tools, such as Monday and Jira.
