Job Details
The Billing Specialist will increase billing and collection efforts and ensure expediency in the processing of payments. The role manages the payer database, ensures accuracy of receipts, order intake, claim submissions, and reconciliation of receipts. Also serves to build relationships with payers, clients and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and review patient information
- Transfer insurance claims and billing data to billing software
- Verify patient benefits and insurance
- Maintain an up-to-date list of current insurance providers
- Develop and maintain a tracking system of incoming and late payments
- Follow-up on registration errors and insurance denials
- Engage with payer and request prior authorization for tests
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED. BS/BA preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience with billing software, medical insurance regulations
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Excel; Google suite; working knowledge of billing software (XIFIN) is a plus
