Full-Time Business Systems Analyst - Level III

Shift: Night Shift

The Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with the business system owners and users to capture the right business requests and accurately translate them to specifications that aid design, coding, and testing of complex software and/or data warehouse applications within the organization.

The incumbent performs a liaison function between the business users, software engineers, and QA analysts for implementing software solutions in order to accurately realize business goals.

The incumbent will help populate the roadmap, drive prioritization of the backlog, and ensure stories are detailed enough for development to be planned for.

1. Work with the business stakeholders to drive the roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
2. Work with the business stakeholders to accurately capture all stakeholder requests and translate them into system specifications (functional, non-functional, user interface, reports, and external interface specifications).
3. Work with software engineers to ensure the engineering realization is in accordance with the functionality desired in the roadmap.
4. Work with testers to ensure all software components are tested adequately and participates in Quality Assurance testing as required.
5. Provides guidance to stakeholders on what functionality is possible and in what sequence of delivery.
6. Manages requirements risks by proactively tracking and communicating issues and devising methods for mitigating them.
7. Liaise with other project and program areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues.
8. Analyzes, maps, and communicates current state and future state business processes.
9. Supports stakeholders in the resolution of in-depth user questions and issues.
10. Maintains a working knowledge of new technology and business analysis standards & practices.
11. Collaborates with IT management to define and develop documentation & business analysis artifact standards, guidelines, processes, and templates.

Required Skills:

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of underwriting improvement and digital enablement (portals and APIs).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate and convey information to stakeholders, software engineers, and testers.
• Requirements gathering from business users as well as developing system specifications for projects, enhancements, and bug/issues.

• Excellent interpersonal, documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Insurance and Reinsurance Knowledge is a plus

Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field plus 5 to 7 years related experience.
