Full-Time Care Center Coding & Billing Specialist

The Coding and Billing Specialist (Care Center Biller) is responsible for complete, accurate, and timely processing of all designated claims. Review and respond to daily correspondence from physician practices in a timely manner, and provide information as requested.

Strong follow-up skills, attention to detail, a solutions-focused mindset, and a driving work ethic are essential.

This position works collaboratively with staff in physician practices and team members at Privia Headquarters.

1. Work directly with physicians and practice administrators to ensure optimal revenue cycle functionality.
2. Understand and explain various health plan options and requirements.
3. Understand and work with the revenue cycle from scheduling to claim processing.
4. Handle back-end edits and denials, and submit corrected claims and appeals.
5. Create claims and handle front-end edits and denials in the EHR system.
6. Review provider documentation and code for services to ensure proper charge capture, following payer and coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, CMS, etc.).
7. Query providers regarding any questions related to documentation.
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned work.

• Education: High School Graduate
• Experience: 3+ years in a medical billing office
• Experience with athenaHealth's tools is preferred
• Coding experience and knowledge of CCI edits are preferred
• CPC or CPC-A certification is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Willingness to train and mentor others
• Strong time management and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Technical proficiency

Hourly range: $20.00-$23.00/hr, plus 10% annual bonus potential, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, 401K, paid time off, other wellness programs).

Technical Requirements (for remote workers only): Minimum download speed of 5 Mbps and upload speed of 3 Mbps. Internet speed tests like speedtest.net are recommended. Expense reimbursement for internet costs may be available.
