Full-Time Certification Integrity Technical Manager

Technical specialist with an understanding of manufacturing environments and third-party product safety auditing. Ability to analyse data creating management summaries and using this intelligence to drive forward certification scheme and help develop connectivity within IT platforms.

Support Certification Integrity agenda and operations and take responsibility for monitoring performance of BRCGS approved Certification Body who undertake site audits.

Success in this role will utilise data analysis to improve integrity measures and ensure Certification Body operates at peak performance for customers, mitigating performance issues proactively.

1. Develop and improve systems to monitor and report Certification Body performance to ensure BRCGS audits are undertaken with integrity and consistency.
2. Drive improvement in Certification Body performance with focus on collaboration and support.
3. Collaborate with IT and Technical departments to develop future online products (e.g., performance assessment system, audit results, complaints, product recalls).
4. Conduct audits of Certification Body activities.
5. Manage BRCGS complaints & appeals system, and recall submission management.
6. Assess root cause identification and effectiveness of corrective and preventive plans submitted to BRCGS, signing off action plans.
7. Support certification integrity team with other activities as required.
8. Liaise with Technical team, keeping them updated with findings from integrity activities.
9. Support business initiatives and improvements with certification integrity data.

Knowledge and Attributes:

• Degree in food or related bioscience.
• 5+ years relevant experience in product manufacturing, certification, accreditation, or standards management.
• Practical experience with BRCGS or other GFSI recognised schemes.
• Ability to analyse large quantities of data, identify trends, and make conclusions for further actions.
• Apply technical knowledge to interpret data volumes.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
• Assessment and performance of root cause analysis and corrective & preventive action plans.
• Accurate and concise information capture.
• Prepare and analyse high-standard written reports.
• Knowledge of auditing sector, third-party certification and its role in food and consumer products is an advantage.
• Practical lead auditor experience and lead auditor training is an advantage.
• Project management skills.
