Who We Are Sureify's mission is to modernize the life insurance and annuity industry. We're looking for a talented Cloud Architect to work remotely as a key member of our engineering team. You'll help build and evolve our next-generation cloud-based compute platform.
Responsibilities
- Help build and evolve our cloud-based compute platform for digitally-delivered life insurance.
- Be a key voice in deciding technologies and practices.
- Collaborate with the product development team on platform architecture.
- Develop automation and document practices for operating our software.
- Develop monitoring beyond CPU and memory utilization.
- Drive decisions like SaaS vs. self-hosting.
- Develop run books for emergencies and execute tests.
- Coordinate third-party system reviews.
- Design and automate load tests.
- Track and improve MTBF and MTTR.
- Share knowledge with less experienced team members.
Required Skills
- Strong software engineering background
- Passion for infrastructure
- Experience with cloud deployment design and architecture
- Proficiency in automation tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Focus on code quality, repeatable processes, and automation
- Experience building secure applications and improving performance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Nice to Haves
- Experience with build and release engineering
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS
Compensation
Base annual salary: $200,000-$250,000 USD
