Full-Time Cloud Architect (Open Telekom Cloud)

As a Cloud Architect you understand the latest developments of physical or virtual networks in cloud and container technology. You drive the further development of the network in our OpenStack-based cloud platform in the interest of customers and the OpenSource community.

This includes:

• Design, operation and further development of OpenStack-based services on the Open Telekom Cloud Platform in the network area.
• Plan and drive automation using common automation frameworks.
• Further develop the physical and virtual network architecture, considering IT security aspects.
• Collaborate with specialists from our team and other Deutsche Telekom teams on technology topics of public cloud, open source.
• Prepare materials for presentations and advise management on technology decisions.
• Work in an agile-based squad and support other colleagues.

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, mathematics, technical, engineering or natural science subject or comparable vocational training with many years of professional experience.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in the ICT sector, ideally focused on modern Cloud technologies (Public Clouds, preferably OpenStack-based, or Docker or Kubernetes).
• Ability to understand Low Level Design and work with it.
• Willingness to create proof-of-concepts with scripting languages and other tools.
• Excellent ability to assess technical solutions individually and make necessary decisions when solving incidents.
• Agile mindset.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• German knowledge is a plus.
• Comfortable in a multicultural environment.
• Proven record of deep knowledge in physical networking and IT Security (Routers, Switches, Firewalls).
• Past experience with OpenSource projects and Automation (e.g. Ansible) is a plus.
