We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 3 Azure Engineer to join our growing team.
As a Level 3 Azure Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing a wide variety of cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) within our Managed Service Capability which support our customer applications and services.
The candidate should have prior experience presenting Cloud services and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, as well as communicating the benefits to their organisation, with the goal of driving growth for the Telefónica Tech UK&I Cloud practise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy, configure, and manage Azure infrastructure components, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, and Identity with Entra ID. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Bicep templates for efficient and repeatable deployments.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and ensure consistency in the deployment and management of Azure resources. Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Monitoring and Optimisation: Monitor Azure resources for performance, availability, and cost, implementing optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce operational expenses. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard Azure environments, following best practices and compliance standards. Participate in regular security assessments and contribute to the enhancement of security protocols.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with architects, developers, and other engineers to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements. Maintain detailed documentation of Azure infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest Azure features, services, and best practices. Pursue relevant certifications and training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert Certification
- Proven experience as an Azure Platform Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, microservices, and containerisation
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development, infrastructure as code (IaC), and DevOps practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology, and style
- Previous experience working as a deployment consultant or engineer
- Knowledge and experience with Azure pricing and commercial models, and how to optimise a solution for a specific engagement
- Hold or the ability to attain Government managed security clearance levels. SC as a minimum
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert Certification
- Terraform Cloud or Terraform
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Previous experience in IT Managed Services
