Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (remote)

Conception is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years of experience in GCP and demonstrated expertise in the field.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining and expanding existing GCP infrastructure.
• Utilizing Terraform, Git flow, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Implementing software and security updates.
• Managing cloud-based data storage for data integrity and retention.
• Maintaining PostgreSQL database of biological sample metadata.
• Developing and maintaining automated data processing workflows.
• Scoping and leading diverse infrastructure projects to support bioinformatic and bench scientists.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
• GCP Cloud Associate certification or better.
• Linux system administration.
• Proficiency in Terraform, bash, and Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment best practices.
• Experience with schedulers for task automation.
• Experience with container tooling (Docker, Singularity, Nextflow).
• Ability to scope and lead projects independently.

Preferred Skills:

• Database administration experience, especially PostgreSQL.
• SLURM or similar workload manager experience.
• Networking knowledge.
• Interest in bioinformatics and biology.
• Proficiency in optimizing infrastructure for cost, performance, and security.
• Communication skills to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in R and SQL.
