About the RoleSearchStax is the leader in Open Source Search in the Cloud. This is an excellent opportunity to join SearchStax Cloud team, providing technical support to customers and ensuring the availability and reliability of our search service. We are seeking a self-motivated Linux and Systems Engineer with a passion for professional service excellence.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate closely with Engineers and Other Cloud Operations engineers.
- Resolve customer support tickets and service incidents professionally.
- Ensure positive customer experience and satisfaction.
- Work within a global support team covering 24x7x365 cloud operations.
- Respond to escalated customer service issues.
- Set up backups, deploy software, upgrade systems, and perform routine maintenance (Manually or using Automation, ideally via Ansible or other scripting language).
- Configure and generate reports, alerts on Core Infrastructure using Datadog, Zabbix or custom scripts.
- Perform periodic security audits of the system.
- Perform service requests with high quality and detail.
- Be part of an on-call rotation schedule.
What You Must Have
- Strong communication skills and strong command on English
- 2+ years experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/CentOS)
- At least 1 cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Knowledge of network issues (firewall, routing, load balancing)
- Familiarity in writing scripts using Bash or Python
- Practical knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) database systems
- Experience in web server administration (e.g. Apache, Nginx)
- Exposure to ITIL process
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (we use Ansible, Terraform and Python)
