About the Role
SearchStax is a leader in Open Source Search.
This is a contract opportunity to join SearchStax Cloud team. Provide technical support to customers, ensuring service availability and reliability. Focus on installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing open source and custom-built software. Analyze and improve application reliability, disaster recovery, cloud management, and cluster management.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Engineers to ensure high availability and smooth operations.
- Resolve customer support tickets/incidents professionally and promptly.
- Ensure positive customer experience and satisfaction.
- Work within a global 24x7x365 support team.
- Manage handoffs for cloud support issues.
- Respond to escalated issues using defined processes.
- Set up backups, deploy software, upgrade systems, and perform maintenance (manual or automated).
- Configure and generate reports/alerts on core infrastructure (Datadog, Zabbix, custom scripts).
- Perform periodic security audits.
- Handle service requests from customers and internal teams with high quality.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
What You Must Have
- Strong communication skills (English).
- 2+ years Linux system (Ubuntu/CentOS) administration experience.
- Cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of network issues (firewall, routing, load balancing).
- Scripting skills (Bash or Python).
- MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) administration experience (backup, replication, optimization).
- Web server administration experience (Apache, Nginx).
- ITIL process familiarity.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- DevOps tools knowledge (Ansible, Terraform, Python) is a plus.
