Job Details
The Coder+ Educator will be accountable for the successful delivery of the Coder+ services. This role involves partnering with providers and staff to deliver documentation education and training virtually and in-person.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct provider/clinical staff documentation reviews.
- Create education material and hold educational sessions.
- Apply coding classification standards and guidelines.
- Perform quality reviews of records.
- Research and answer coding and coding workflow related questions.
- Educate coders and other staff on coding guidelines.
- Assist in development of processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendor partners.
- Follow coding guidelines and legal requirements.
- Assist in day-to-day coding/educational needs.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of provider medical coding experience.
- Surgical coding experience preferred.
- AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification preferred.
- Experience working in a physician practice setting preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of coding conventions and rules.
- Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel on occasion.
