Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Management Engineer to support production operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing Configuration Items and Configuration Data across complex hardware and software systems, serving as the Configuration Management Lead on multiple projects. The candidate will provide final approval authority for contractually required documentation, while ensuring compliance with group- and customer-specific processes and best CM practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage configuration of complex hardware and software systems.
- Review and provide input on engineering data and documentation.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for configuration of systems and components.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Configuration Management-related activities.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to manage, assess, and control changes to baseline configurations of software, hardware, and other assets.
- Oversee key Configuration Management processes, including:
- Requirements development
- Documentation development
- Configuration identification
- Configuration control and change management
- Configuration accounting and verification
- Monitor, support, and troubleshoot Configuration Management processes and tools.
- Provide user support for configuration management software.
- Perform and coordinate audits to ensure compliance with established baselines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field with relevant engineering experience.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience in Engineering, Configuration Management, or Requirements Development.
- Proven experience with both hardware and software development processes.
- Strong knowledge of CM principles and practices, including EIA-649 and Mil-HDBK-61A standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Windchill PLM/PDM systems.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.100.
- Experience working in both development and production environments.
