Full-Time Construction Cost Estimator – Commercial TI/Fit Out

Turner & Townsend seeks a Cost Estimator to support a national office space construction portfolio, encompassing remodels and fit-outs for new and existing spaces.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare accurate and detailed conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates for office space remodels/fit-outs.
2. Develop cost plans/estimates throughout initial design phases with limited information, providing comprehensive cost options (general contractor, furniture/fixtures/equipment, professional fees, etc.) to the client.
3. Demonstrate experience in estimating and understanding cost drivers across US geographical regions.
4. Review design changes and produce revised estimates.
5. Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and value engineering.
6. Serve as primary client contact, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
7. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to maintain project alignment.
8. Generate detailed cost reports/forecasts, presenting findings to clients/stakeholders.
9. Stay current with market trends/pricing for accurate cost estimates and recommendations.
10. Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation.
11. Review general contractor/subcontractor pricing, negotiating fair contract prices on behalf of the client.
12. Negotiate change orders with general contractors/subcontractors.
13. Develop and maintain unit rates for construction assemblies, supporting continuous updates.
14. Adhere to SOX controls, where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction cost management and/or estimating, focusing on office spaces.
• Preferred: Program-level cost management and construction consultancy experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building/maintaining client relationships.
• Proficiency in construction industry technical matters, including schedule duration input, value management, and value engineering.
• Commercial sector experience, including tenant improvements (TI) and office space build-outs.
• Preferred: Financial Services experience.
• Expertise in industry-standard cost estimating software/tools.
