Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Estimator to support their national office space construction portfolio. This role requires a professional with a strong estimating background, particularly in office spaces. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate estimates for office space remodels and fit-outs.
- Developing cost plans and estimates throughout initial design phases.
- Estimating costs including General Contractor, Furniture/Fixtures/Equipment, Professional fees, and other cost buckets.
- Considering cost drivers across geographical regions in the United States.
- Reviewing design changes and updating estimates.
- Managing project budgets, ensuring cost control and value engineering.
- Providing regular updates and addressing client concerns.
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers.
- Generating cost reports and forecasts, presenting findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Staying updated on market trends to provide accurate cost estimates and recommendations on cost risks & savings.
- Producing monthly cost reports for clients.
- Reviewing contractor pricing and negotiating fair contract prices.
- Negotiating change orders with general contractors/subcontractors.
- Creating and maintaining unit rates.
- Adhering to SOX controls where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction cost management and/or estimating, focused on office spaces.
- Program level cost management and construction consultancy experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of construction industry technical matters (schedule duration input, value management, value engineering)
- Experience in the commercial sector, including tenant improvements (TI) and office space build-outs.
- Financial Services experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in industry-standard cost estimating software.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year (base salary).
