Full-Time Construction Rail Estimator Opportunities

Turner & Townsend are inviting experienced Estimating professionals of all levels to join our USA Infrastructure team to support rail construction projects nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
• Meet and negotiate costs with Contractors.
• Use the appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.).
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to client.
• Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
• Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all projects stages.
• Provide leadership to cost management team when necessary, ensure the delivery on all of accountabilities.
• Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to appropriate line manager.
• Perform all aspects of estimating, analysis, and verification of contractor costs.
• Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process.
• Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final costs.
• Be a Team Player – support the junior estimators and team, be flexible and maintain a positive attitude.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
• Must have Experience working in the Infrastructure world (Aviation, Rail, Transportation Civil Construction).
• Computer based estimating software experience, e.g. on-screen take-off, Revit
• Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement
• Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.
• Team player - Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
• Good knowledge of MS Excel
• Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.

Education/Experience:

• Infrastructure project experience is a must.
• Rail construction experience is advantageous.
• Technical work experience or college degree in Cost Estimating, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost estimating, specifically on the delivery side.
• Must have experience working on multiple project phases (Not just preconstruction).
• Consultancy experience preferred.
• Experience with civil estimating is essential.
• Strong understanding of all civils, structural and architectural systems.

Salary: $130K-$190K per year.
