Full-Time Coordinator Billing, Full Time, Days

The Billing Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Billing Coordinator coordinates timely and accurate professional billing. This position will remain up to date regarding company-wide and industry billing and coding changes and performs various administrative and clerical duties to support the role’s core function.

1. Review encounter documentation to confirm reported services.
2. Resolve pre-bill edits to confirm correct coding (modifier, diagnosis, CPT, and HCPCS review).
3. Educate providers on correct coding and documentation guidelines.
4. Utilize coding resources to facilitate correct coding.
5. Triage provider and practice administration queries.
6. Requests necessary charge corrections.
7. Performs administrative activities and projects.
8. Attends team and department meetings.
9. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• In lieu of degree/certification, must have a High School Diploma/GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of healthcare or professional office experience.

Preferred:

• CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
• Thorough knowledge and experience utilizing EPIC Resolute billing system (strongly preferred).
