Full-Time Copywriter 3

Responsibilities: Develops product copy to support business and marketing objectives. Retrieves, edits, and updates copy from an existing product copy database. Works on high-profile, complex, and varied accounts. Establishes priorities and works concurrently on multiple complex tasks. Collaborates with client's merchant and legal staff to develop an approved copy database. Works with designers to incorporate copy into final pieces. Gathers communication objectives from client meetings, briefings, and research. Conceptualizes and determines product features for new items, translating them into compelling benefits. Proofreads for style, grammar, punctuation, logo/photo relationships, spelling, and consistency. Quality checks page layouts for type characteristics and layout adherence. May review the work of others. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience. Applies policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives. May provide oversight of junior staff and/or review work for accuracy. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of technology (computers, MS Office/MAC word processing, spreadsheets). Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills for effective cross-departmental communication. Possesses strong organizational skills to manage deadlines, prioritize workloads, and adjust to business needs. Demonstrates expert copywriting knowledge. Has a strong portfolio of imaginative work. Has strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel, Quark Xpress and internet research. Able to provide creative concepts and understand retail advertising.
