What does a Creative Director, Copy do?
The Creative Director (CD), Copy oversees creative efforts and team members for multiple brands and indications. The CD leads, mentors, and guides, setting high standards for big-idea development, memorable communication, and strong craft.
The CD instructs, refines, and pushes creative team members to achieve higher standards.
The CD possesses a strong background in either art or copy, is well-versed in both, and leads the creation of brand campaigns and MCM assets.
The CD has extensive experience, knowledge, and understanding of marketing/advertising principles to ensure the work achieves its full potential, adheres to brand standards, stays on schedule, and meets/exceeds client expectations.
In conjunction with account and planning partners, the CD ensures the business's overall wellness by maximizing team billability, profitability, and opportunities for organic growth.
The CD is a trusted client partner, presenting and selling work from a holistic and strategic perspective. Launch experience is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience creating award-winning, business-building pharma campaigns.
- Deep understanding of creating effective HCP communications.
- Partners with account and planning on creative brief development.
- Acts as a client's lead creative guide and trusted partner, gathering necessary project materials.
- Promotes strong partnerships with internal and external teams (clients, vendors, partner agencies).
- Serves as a strategic partner and go-to for account, planning, production, and SME teams.
- Clear understanding of medical, regulatory, and legal (MRL) parameters.
- Mastery of storytelling and confidently presenting and defending work.
- Adaptable and able to lead teams in new directions, initiating changes.
- Responsible for creative excellence.
- Understands the importance of team utilization and ensures full team targets are met.
- Mastery of accessibility best practices.
- Shows care and consideration for team members.
- Demonstrates understanding of each team member's strengths and leverages them.
- Exhibits strong emotional intelligence, creating a positive work environment and building strong relationships.
- Acts as a client partner, focusing strategically and creating strong agency-client relationships.
- Leads pitches and new business efforts, inspiring the team and pushing for the highest-level work.
- Builds strong interdepartmental relationships.
