Job Details
Crisis Call Specialist Role: Providing support to individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis through the Maine Crisis Line.
Responsibilities:
- Answer calls and text/chat messages on the crisis line remotely.
- Assess presenting problems and psychosocial stressors of callers.
- Complete risk assessments to ensure safety and well-being of callers.
- Use programmatic systems to support monitoring progress toward performance measures.
- Collaborate with Crisis Response Services across the state.
- Receive training to become certified as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician (MHRT).
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree required.
- One year or more of crisis or mental health experience preferred.
- Ability to earn MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment required.
- Strong oral communication skills, able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to manage complex tasks effectively.
- Experience in call center or customer service is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Flexible schedule required.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to work with complex information.
- Familiarity with DSM-V information required.
- Ability to learn documentation software and resource applications.
- Ability to use telephone, instant messaging, and chat technology.
- Successful completion of criminal background check, child protective service check, and sex offender check.
