Full-Time Data Architect

We're SweedPos, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We are looking for a Data Architect to build and scale our data platform for client analytics and machine learning. We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management for cannabis retailers.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design and manage the architecture of our analytical data layer (scalability, transparency, business alignment).
• Manage and mentor Analytics Engineers.
• Translate customer reporting needs into data models.
• Communicate with clients about data model behavior.
• Establish and maintain data governance frameworks (documentation, metrics, ownership, quality).
• Formalize best practices for dbt and build a semantic layer.
• Standardize KPIs and business dimensions.
• Build a foundation for self-service analytics.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years in data architecture, analytics engineering, or senior data roles.
• Experience managing or mentoring data/analytics engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt, SQL, and modern warehouse technologies (Snowflake, ClickHouse, BigQuery).
• Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, data marts, and analytical data design.
• Experience implementing data governance practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with client-facing analytics or embedded reporting.
