Full-Time Data Engineer

Why Is This Role Important?

Data and technology are at the core of our digital first strategy and this individual will play a critical role delivering on this foundation. The Data Engineer will be a core contributor to our highly-collaborative team and thus requires a strong ability (and desire) to interact professionally both within a team and with our clients when needed.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, validate, deploy and maintain data pipelines using Amazon Web Services (AWS) that meet critical business needs
• Design and build data solutions in Snowflake and Tableau to support analytics and automated business intelligence to help provide actionable insights
• Create and contribute to automation of essential processes related to infrastructure solution deployment creating repeatable and robust deployments
• Modify and improve data engineering processes to handle evolving business goals
• Overall ownership of the “platform” and supporting essential platform capabilities
• Play an essential role in troubleshooting data system problems and provide viable solution options
• Partner closely with stakeholders to understand tech requirements and create consensus on approach and outcomes. 
• Take ownership of complete data life cycle and design, develop, and enhance data models
• Contribute expertise on technology options, risk, and operational impact to help drive overall technology strategy and roadmap
• Conform to best practices in information security
• Fully document all solution work including designs and configurations
• Provide guidance and mentor others

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in: 
  • Data warehousing methodologies and modeling techniques
  • Data ingestion methods
  • SQL, preferably Snowflake SQL
• 3+ years of experience with design, development and implementation of data solutions including architecture design, data modeling, development, and testing 
• Experience delivering data solutions on a major cloud platform (AWS preferred)
• Experience building solutions in Snowflake preferred
• Experience building reporting solutions in a business intelligence tool like Tableau or PowerBI
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
• Able to troubleshoot problems across infrastructure, platform and application domains (internal or client side)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Proven ability to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical acumen
